Closer Look Home Inspections is a locally owned and operated family business. Karl VanHeyst is a Certified Inspector and has been self-employed for over 20 years. I have several years experience with maintenance and repairs of municipal, residential and agricultural properties. I have constructed several agricultural buildings and been involved with construction of residential homes. I hold a valid Class 3 Water Treatment license, and am a Personal Property Appraiser.
Qualifications:
- Member of the National Association of Certified Home Inspectors
- Certified by The American Home Inspectors Training Institute (AHIT).
- Successfully completed the AHIT Master Home Inspector In-Class Training Course.
- Passed NACHI’s Online Inspector Examinations
- Passed NACHI’s Online Electrical Examination..
- Completed NACHI’s Code of Ethics Course.
- Taken NACHI’s Standards of Practice Quiz.
- Abide by NACHI’s and ASHI Code of Ethics.
- F ollow NACHI’s /ASHI Standard of Practice which meet or exceed CHAPI, and OAHI standards.
- Fulfill 18 hours of continuing education annually.
- Own and use high-tech equipment such as a gas leak detector and moisture meter.
- Available Saturdays.
- Generate easy-to-read computerized inspection reports.
